I am truly fortunate to add to those excellent review of Thomas. His skills are out of this world! Getting a mortgage on our first home was a dreadful thought as we expected a load of paperwork, working with difficult people who might not always be available for our questions, a tedious and overwhelming approval process. Well, Thomas held our hands from start to finish. All the stressful aspects of the process were made easy as he was always reachable via phone or email whether he is at the office or on vacation. He is patient, compassionate, and customer satisfaction driven which does not surprise me based on his preview reviews. He empathized with us when we lose bids on homes. He never said no to every document requests no matter how may times or the time of the day we need them. He is honest as to what is to be expected during the process. He helped us put in place a great financial plan so we have enough cash left for unexpected situations that may occur once we start living in the home. I highly recommend his services for your mortgage. He does not over-promise and under deliver. He is the total opposite. He will be cautiously optimistic in his guidance, but he will surprise you with more benefits to your mortgage plan in the end. Thomas is God sent!!

Thomas DiGiacomo is absolutely amazing! I recently purchased my first home. It was an exciting yet scary and stressful experience for me. Being a first time home buyer, I literally knew nothing of the process. I purchased this home on my own and did not really have anyone to help me or advise me. The only part of the process that did not cause me any grief was Thomas DiGiacomo and the Chase team. From day one I truly felt that Thomas had my back and my best interests intended. He was always available to answer my questions and never seemed annoyed. He truly set me up for success by explaining everything, knowing what to expect and what to do. He went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of every step of the way. I so appreciate him, and could not be happier that my mortgage is with Chase.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is it time to stop renting and buy a home?
When debating between renting vs. buying, you need to think about your lifestyle and finances. While renting can provide more flexibility, owning a home enables you to build equity in the property and may provide tax benefits.

Buying a home is a huge step, especially when you’re moving from renting to owning.
How can I get information on mortgage loan options?
At Chase, you can choose from several types of mortgage loans to finance your home purchase. A Home Lending Advisor can help you understand the differences between the various loan options so you find one that best suits your financial situation.
Once you understand what you want out of a home, determining your housing budget is essential. After determining a loose housing budget, you'll need to decide how much you'll be comfortable paying each month. Your real estate agent will help you find the right home based on all of these factors. Looking for more information? Read our guide on “How to Find the Perfect Home!”
What documents will I need to apply for a mortgage?
Traditional loans usually require documents that verify your employment, income and assets, and may include:
• Your Social Security number
• Pay stubs for the last two months
• W-2 forms for the past two years
• Bank statements for the past two or three months
• One to two years of federal tax returns
• A signed contract of sale (if you've already chosen your new home)
• Information on current debt, including car loans, student loans and credit cards
What is better: a fixed or an adjustable interest rate?
If you plan to be in your home for more than seven years, you may want to consider a fixed-rate mortgage, which offers predictable payments and long-term protection against rising mortgage interest rates. If you plan to be in your home for seven years or less, an adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) could be attractive. Keep in mind that with an ARM, your monthly payments have the potential to go up each time your interest rate adjusts.
